Ependyme cells or ependyma cells are one of the four types of glial cells in the central nervous system. They border the ependyma and include the ventricular cavities of the central nervous system. These cells ensure, thanks to their cilial beating, the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid and form a protective cushion for the brain and the spinal cord.
