Dissociated culture of human adult neurons obtained by resection of the hippocampus for therapeutic purposes. In vitro, the cells proliferate within a clump of cells called a "Neurosphere" (in the center of the image): the progenitor cells express Nestin (in red) and give rise to new neurons, which express beta-Tubulin III (in green), as well as other types of cells (cores stained bright blue). Scale: 20 µm. Film made at the Centre de Recherche de l'Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle épinière (CRICM – Brain and Spinal Cord Institute Research Center) U975, "Cortex & Epilepsy” team".
