Biological resource centers

The BIOBANQUES infrastructure coordinates a national network made up of biobanks, also known as biological resource centres (BRCs), tumour banks and microbiological resource centres. These structures may be devoted to a specific research area—such is the case for the tumour banks—or may have a more general purpose, and be used in research programmes dealing with more than one disease.
