Frédéric De Bock (Unit 661: Inserm/CNRS/Montpellier Universities 1 and 2) - 2014 Innovation Prize

At the Institute for Functional Genomics in Montpellier, Frédéric De Bock “enjoys tinkering.” However, the modest design engineer seems to forget that he is one of the first people to have developed a technique that makes it possible to maintain slices of brain tissue in culture for several days, in order to study them (organotypic cultures).
