Marc Lopez is an Inserm research engineer at the Marseilles Cancer Research Center (Inserm Unit 1068). He first identified a family of molecules called "adherence", nectins, before successfully characterizing the roles of each of the members of this family: herpes virus receptor, activation of cytotoxic functions … and breast cancer biomarker (for nectin-4). This discovery paves the way to new therapeutic treatments.
