During the Avignon Festival, come to a performance of Souris Chaos (Knock-out Mice), the outcome of a meeting between Daniela Cota, a specialist in the physiopathology of dietary balance at Inserm (Neurocentre Magendie, Bordeaux) and the author Frédéric Sonntag.

Two new binômes will also be performed during the Avignon Festival:

  • Extrêmophile (Extremophile), by Alexandra Badea, on her meeting with Bernard Ollivier, a specialist in the microbiology of extreme environments (IRD – MIO – PACA Region – Culture Science). Wednesday 16 July 2014 at 6:00 pm.
  • Noce Chez les Épinoches (Stickleback Wedding), by Gustave Akakpo, on his meeting with Wilfried Sanchez, an ecotoxicologist (INERIS – Picardie Region – Faïencerie Théâtre de Creil). Friday 18 July 2014 at 6:00 pm.

The performances will be followed by a meeting with the artistic team and an aperitif.

Why binôme ? “It is primarily inspired by the desire to arrange a meeting between two individuals developing in very different environments but fascinated by one another’s activities. One has devoted his/her life to research, and the other to writing. “Binôme” provides a non-academic means of discovering the Science that is becoming a fertile source of inspiration for Contemporary Theatre. These two worlds, seemingly so different, are mutually enriching, and give life to an original and rich artistic work. It is touching to observe the apprehensiveness of the two protagonists who, during their encounter, often find that their respective disciplines are similarly guided by intuition, doubt, effort and passion. “Binôme” helps to reveal a certain scientific poetry.
Thibault Rossigneux, Artisitic Director “les sens des mots” (The Sense of the Words), designer of Binôme
