Memory Week at Caen

From 15 September 2014 to 20 September 2014

Caen - A unique week dedicated to the exploration of the memory in all its forms! Programme includes: talks, round tables workshops, etc.

Because we are nothing without memory! Our memory accompanies us throughout our entire lives. At every step, we use our memory. We use our memory to learn to walk and talk during our earliest years. At school, we explore it every day to learn new things. Working life constantly pushes us to use it in different ways. The arrival of retirement encourages us to look after our precious memory more than ever. It has become a subject of concern for society. As life expectancy increases, diseases and disorders that affect memory have increased. Researchers are looking more and more into the Alzheimer's disease phenomenon and memory in general.

It is against this backdrop that the Observatoire B2V des Mémoires have organised a Memory Week in order to provide a better understanding of human memories. The various talks, round tables, workshops and colloquia will develop the links between memory and social environment, memory and senses, memory and history, memory and identity, etc.

Inserm is a partner of this event.
